An example:
If the odds on Hedgehunter to win The Grand National are 4.1 with Betfair and the Average Bookie odds are 3.75 then the % difference in odds would be approximately 7.1%. This can be calculated by working out how much better off you would be by placing a bet:
If you had £10 at Betfair odds of 4.1 this could potentially return £39.45 (£29.45 winnings based on £31 less 5%), whereas £10 at average bookie odds of 3.75 could return £37.50 (£27.50 winnings). The difference is £1.95, which can be expressed as a percentage by the sum (£1.95 divided by £27.50) x 100 = 7.1% |
